Origin of Halloween:

Halloween, also known as All Saints' Day, is a holiday celebrated on October 31 in various countries, especially in the United States. Although it has become a popular holiday associated with costumes, treats, and spooky decorations, its origin dates back to much older traditions.

The history of Halloween has its roots in the Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. The Celts believed that during the night of Samhain, the world of the living and the world of the dead merged, allowing the spirits of the deceased to return to Earth. To ward off these malevolent spirits, people lit bonfires and used masks and costumes.

When Christianity spread throughout Europe, the Catholic Church adopted the date of November 1 as All Saints' Day, a celebration of saints and martyrs. The night before, October 31, became Halloween's eve, also known as "All Hallows' Eve." Over time, the ancient Celtic traditions blended with Christian festivities, giving rise to the modern celebration of Halloween.

Today, Halloween is a holiday where people dress up, decorate their homes with spooky themes, carve pumpkins, and enjoy candies and treats. Although it has evolved considerably over the centuries, its cultural roots remain connected to ancient beliefs and traditions.

Virtual Reality Tools In The Tourism Industry

Virtual tourism around the world is growing, and this isn't only a kneejerk reaction to the COVID pandemic but actually something that has been going on for quite some time.   The concept of Virtual Tourism is, in principle, a mix between the notion of VR and tourism. Virtual tourism essentially facilitates the experience of travel, but does not require travelling at all.  Virtual tourism has evolved into more advanced forms in which headsets or simulators are used to interact with the environment. It may involve use of various props, users may be required to wear gloves and there may be additional sensations such as movement (like in a rollercoaster simulator), feeling (for example if the user is sprayed with water) and smell.  As we've seen, there are a wide range of virtual opportunities for interested parties such as visiting an art museum or climbing the mountain.
