Why Skincare Is Important

Your skin is your armor. Afterall, skin is the body’s largest organ, and part of its purpose is to serve as a barrier and protect us from the environment. That includes dangerous substances like toxins, germs, and bacteria. To keep our “armor” effective, we need to protect it from the harmful effects of the sun’s ultraviolet (UV) rays. Furthermore, healthy skin helps to regulate body temperature and keep us comfortable. Good skin also has a mental health component. It can improve our appearance and self-esteem. Dry, dull, or blemished skin can make you feel self-conscious and affect your confidence. Luckily, simple habits will keep you looking and feeling good. Tips for Healthy Skin Good skin care doesn’t have to involve a complex routine.   Basic steps go a long way to giving your skin the pampering it deserves, according to the Mayo Clinic. Protect it —  The sun is one of the leading causes of skin damage and aging. To protect your skin, apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF

Gemini zodiac sign dates, traits and personality explained

Gemini is the star sign born between 22nd May and 22nd June, and belong to the Air element of the zodiac (along with Libra and Aquarius). Their main Gemini traits are being super-fast, super-smart, super-adaptable and super-curious people. All of this super-ness makes them fascinating to be around, albeit usually only for short spells because they can a) wear you out, b) get easily distracted elsewhere and before you know it, they’re off. Geminis like variety, keeping their options open, having lots of opportunities on the go, and being ~in the know~ about anything, everything, and everyone. Notorious gossips! They are generally kind, but there is a  slither  of chilliness and detachment, created by their Air element and twin nature. You never quite know which Gemini is showing up, and there’s always one in the background taking notes, and keeping secrets. Versatile / superficial If the phrase "Jack of all trades, master of none" applied to any sign then it’s Gemini. You wi

South Korea’s Spy Cam Crisis

South Korea’s spy cam crisis, also known as the Molka crisis, persists despite the country’s democratization. Daily illegal spy cameras are placed and found throughout public spaces. These cams disproportionately target women and film their most intimate moments without consent.  The government of South Korea has responded to the issue by implementing laws and policies to deter and penalize offenders. However, failure to address underlying cultural issues allows the crisis to endure. The spy cam crisis is a product of deep-rooted sexism, and without a comprehensive government response, women will continue to suffer. Spy Cameras and Digital Sex Crimes Spy cams are tiny, easily concealed cameras that come in different forms. Some are tucked out of sight, while others are disguised as household items. Spy cams have been found in clocks, car keys, USB sticks, and paintings.  Digital sex crimes  involve taking non-consensual intimate images or videos. Victims of such crimes are often stra

OpenAI's chief operating officer, Brad Lightcap, said at a conference in San Francisco that the company will form a team to explore educational applications of a technology that has threatened to upend industries, stoked new legislation and become a popular learning tool. “Most teachers are trying to figure out ways to incorporate (ChatGPT) into the curriculum and into the way they teach,” Lightcap said at the INSEAD Americas Conference last week. “We at OpenAI are trying to help them think through the problem and we probably next year will establish a team with the sole intent of doing that.” Backed by billions of dollars from Microsoft  (MSFT.O) , OpenAI kicked off the generative AI craze last November by releasing its ChatGPT chatbot, which became one of the world's fastes

"We've seen in other forces their use grow and I think that will become a feature of policing here as well."

Is it possible to regulate artificial intelligence?

Can artificial intelligence be kept under control? Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia, says that believing it can be is akin to "magical thinking". "In many cases politicians and their aides have a weak understanding of how the internet works, and what it is possible to achieve," says Mr Wales, who has spent many hours explaining both technology and its role in free speech to politicians around the globe. "The question of a body like the United Nations regulating AI is like suggesting the UN regulate [image editing app] Photoshop." His point is that he thinks it would be pointless. The issue of whether AI should be regulated, and to what extent, heated up this summer when UN Secretary General António Guterres convened the first ever UN Security Council meeting  to specifically discuss  its potential dangers. Speaking in regard to everything from AI-powered cyber attacks, to the risk of malfunctioning AI, how AI can spread misinformation, and even the
